I’m a freelance Concept Artist/Art Director/DMP & Environment Designer, from Munich, Germany.

My passion lies in telling stories in pictures, developing concepts and defining them in detail. Therefore, my interest lies in the field of concept art, be it for feature films, commercials or video games. Following this interest, I have gained a lot of experience in pre-production and post-production of VFX for feature films and commercials over the last eight years. Amongst others, I have worked on the Sky original series Hausen and on a multitude of different advertising projects for clients such as Porsche, o2 and ARD.

I am also into sports, especially climbing/bouldering, hiking and trailrunning and I enjoy photography.

Services

As a concept artist one of my main tasks is providing a translation and interpretation of an idea into a finished concept design or styleframe. This includes proposing constructive thoughts and finding the most suitable solution.

Based on your detailed briefing I create design solutions, that build a strong creative foundation for the following production steps, streamlining the process.

In addition, I also provide some services in which the conceptual idea is continued and implemented. Here is an overview of the services I offer:

Initial Analysis & Research

Concept Art & Design Sketches

Styleframe & Keyframe illustration

3D Asset & 3D Mockup Design

DMP & Environment design

Storyboards

realization of high res prints & wallpapers

Preparation as treatment or pitch presentation

Skills

Broadly speaking, sketching, drawing and painting with its general basics forms a large part of my professional skill set. Additionally, experience in photography, a good knowledge of 3D workflows and a comprehensive understanding of the production pipeline for pre- and post-production of films are also extremely valuable for my work.

More specifically, most of the time I use some kind of combination of Photoshop and a 3D software. For anything 3D related, I mostly prefer to work in Blender. However, I’m always trying to learn new tools, depending on what works best for the task at hand. Similarly, it is important for me to stay up to date with new developments, always with the thought in mind of improving my creative workflows.  Some of the tools that I use frequently are:

Photoshop
Blender
Houdini
Maya
Nuke
After Effects
Indesign
Illustrator
Unreal Engine
